2Broke right away.Nov 23, 2008
By Rand al Thor
It was a little difficult to figure out how to take it apart to get the batteries in, and the light never would come on. It is made cheaply of plastic parts. However, my son didn't seem to mind that it wouldn't light up and loves it anyway. It looks pretty good, just doesn't light up.

1Very Bad QualityNov 09, 2011
By Kim True
My 5 year old boy was so excited when he got this brand new lightsaber, but we immidiately found out that the switch didn't work. My son was a little bit disappointed, but he still played with it without lights. Then the handle fell apart in 3 minutes, and my son was really disappointed. Good thing was Amazon made return and refund easy and convenient.

3Good but a little violent toyJun 13, 2011
By Eduardo Morel Rodriguez
I got this toy for my 9 year old boy and his 7 year old brother, they had great fun with the sword but time to time one of them gets hurt due to this "game". The toy itself is very resistant but you have to be careful with injuries and of course any thing you have indoors. Other else it looks that they really have fun with the sword.

2It has some flaws. Not suitable for physical play.Oct 15, 2009
By G. Downs
On the packaging it states that the toy is "not durable enough for battle or other play" -- mainly due to the plastic sleeves that form the 'blade' of the saber when it's extended probably will bend if used with enough force. I believe most of the toy lightsabers on the market use the same stuff, but the thinness of the blue plastic makes it feel fragile -- just tapping the extended blade with your palm can make the blade wobble. From a distance it looks fine, but up close you can see several small scratches and discolorations where paint seems to have worn off. The light bulb works on my product, however the on/off switch is useless. The on/off switch is supposed to lower the batteries so they don't contact with the bulb assembly, but even in the 'off' position, inserting the batteries and screwing on the bulb causes it to light immediately when the bulb is screwed in.

It looks like the lightsaber used in the films (I had a toy lightsaber that resembled a flashlight more than a lightsaber) although it definitely has a mass-produced, lesser-than-perfect quality look to it. It is definitely not durable, but the packaging tries to make that clear (and if I recall correctly, the description does too. If it doesn't, it really should.) If the on/off switch worked, it would perfectly suit my purposes for it, but this is definitely not a lightsaber that you would purchase for a child to use on Halloween. They'll definitely want to play with it, and odds are that it'll get messed up.
