I need my "Dark Knight" Fix...Sep 18, 2008
By Woopak
"The THRILL"
Ok, while I'm prepping for a horror run next month and I've been anxiously awaiting the announcement of "The Dark Knight" Dvd or Blu-ray--December 9, 2008 is the day we get to pick up the best super-hero film (in my opinion) on either Blu-ray or Dvd! I'll be taking the morning off!
Anyway, this replica of the "Thumbler" or the Batmobile featured on both Batman Begins and The Dark Knight is made by Hot Wheels. Nice craftsmanship, very detailed and made in die-cast.
The only complaint I may have is that it had some bright gold-colored parts that didn't look like the actual "Batmobile" in the film and it also has somewhat of a glossy finish...not in the film. It's also a little smaller than I would have wanted it to be.
Anyway, still a great collectible for the die-hard Batman fan! Enjoy!
RECOMMENDED!!
who says woopak can't write a fun review?? It's perfect if you want to do a little spelunking...

Sturdy model with flawsMar 16, 2009

It looks like a sturdy model, but a lot of it's plastic which is a bummer. What's with the *gold* trim? Definitely not the same tumbler from the movie. The gold trim gives it a completely different look. Disappointing. I picked it up for 15 and I recommend you pay nothing more than that.

Scaled appropriately next to 1/24 scale carsOct 23, 2009
By CrlMac1 It's a cheap fix to own a decent Dark Knight Tumbler model as suppose to the $450 oversized 1/6 model. Got it today and the first thing I did was to remove the faux wood base by unscrewing the 4 posts anchoring it. Although a lot of people complained about its size as a 1/18 scale model, I think it appropriately scaled against my 1/24 Maisto

this is a great model but it is small. it says 1/18 scale, but by watching the movie it doesn't look like that is true. i have 30 other diecast cars and this should be much bigger that all of them. it is only about 9 inches long but it is still a great piece to add to a collection.

FYI...Jan 19, 2009
By Stig W. The term 1:18 is used loosely in this description. I'd say, if anything, this is 1:24 or 1:26 scale. If you're adding it to a collection of other 1:18 diecast models, it'll probably look out of place.
Also, the canopy does not open easily. It involves pushing the front window or something... You're probably better off just leaving it alone.
