Very awesome diecastAug 22, 2005

I own many diecast collectibles, but this has quickly become the coolest one in my collection. The box states that this is for ages 14+, and I highly recommend that you heed this warning. There are many small pieces (like flaps, etc.) that could easily break off. The detail on this is amazing!
There is only one complaint. Just like all other Hot Wheels diecasts, there are no instructions. They do state that the cockpit opens, but you will have to experiment to figure it out. The only problem is, when you are dealing with a diecast as cool as this, you don't want to experiment, because you don't want to break it. I did figure it out though. You have to lift straight up on the roof and slide it backwards. Then, you can push the windshield backwards to open it. But first, you will need to cut the rubberband that is attached to the canopy. It runs from inside the windshield to the bottom of the car. you can reach it by pushing on the windshield to expose the band.

This is a great replica despite the very unimpressive interior details. Some paint on the dash board would have been nice and there's no steering wheel. Personally, my opinion now is to just leave the cockpit closed. For all of you still wondering how to get the canopy open, here's some instructions. You have to stick your fingers through the windows and press up on the roof section(very carefully I might add, although I was able to lift the vehicle up by the roof). If you look closely inside the car you'll notice a kind of track that both the windshield section and roof use to slide back. Anyways, once you've raised the roof to the right place, you'll feel some resistence when you try to push the windshield back. This is because there's a clear rubber band holding it in place which you'll have to cut. Once you've cut the rubber band and the plastic movable part of the roof is raised enough to clear the metal rear part of the roof you can slide it back. Even after you've opened the car you'll notice it would be very difficult for someone to enter a real car built like this. Well, I hope I was helpful. I had to see a picture on a website of the batmobile with the open cockpit in order to figure it out.

of this item. I keep it on my desk and work AND EVERYONE picks it up at sometime to look at least once even the boss. A great conversational piece.
