it's a cute propDec 07, 2007
It's a cute prop but it really needs to be propped up on something. I knew it didn't come with something to stand it on, but I thought it would be able to stand by itself and it did not. I am not trying to deter anyone from buying this, it is cute. Just be advised that if a person wants to prop it up on something, they'll have to go to a craft store and make something to put it on. That is what I did.

Hedwig is, as stated, a prop. If you buy it as part of a child's "Harry Potter" costume, or if you are an adult Potter fan who just enjoys the idea of having Hedwig in your office staring at you, this is good value for the price (since it is only $10).
If you purchase it thinking that it is a toy for a child to play with, you will be disappointed. You are better served searching for a plush Hedwig.

I was dissapointed in the 3 items I bought for a friend's child's birthday. They were of poor quality and probably won't last even as long as the movie is out! The lantern was very cheap plastic and the handle came right off, the owl was sort of like styrofoam covered with feathers and just not of great, long-term quality. Don't waste your money. I had to give it to the kid or pay a lot for return shipping and have his present delayed even longer.
