Pehaps the best KITT model ever to come in this scale since the vintage Kenner KITT voice car!!!Nov 02, 2006

If you are a fan of the Knight Rider tv series back in the 80s, you will know what this car is... I have been waiting for it to come in this scale (1/18) for 10 years.. It has finally been produced!!! Got it back in November last year when it was first released..And boy was I happy when it arrived at my doorstep...
This model is very detailed except fot the wrong coloured orange foglights on the front.. They are suppose to be white like the rest.. Other than that, this model is the best to represent KITT.. Detailed dashboards, removable t-tops, working scanner light, ejector seat and a working grappling hook on the front. Be careful though not to overpull it as it could get jammed.. Also comes with opening doors, hood and trunk..
Highly recommended only for serious collectors and fans of the series!!!

High quality detailed die cast 1/18 scale modelDec 13, 2009

I was a fan of the show and I also collect 1/18 scale cars from movies and TV shows. The working scanner, ejector seat, removable t-tops, and grappling hook are nice extras. I wish Ertl would have included KITT's voice but oh well. I appreciate and enjoy the detail that Ertl put into this model. It sits prominently with the rest of my collection in my display and receives many compliments from visitors when they see it. I would recommend this to any serious collector but not as a toy because it has a few parts that can easily be lost or swallowed and is made of heavy die cast metal.

Knight Rider 1/18 Scale - A good buyFeb 13, 2009
By Paul Marotta In the '80s I was a fan of the Knight Rider. I had purchased and built the Knight Rider plastic car kit, and had numerous Knight Rider merchandise. This item is excellent. I have just begun collecting 1/18th scale autos and this is one that I am proud to add to my collection. The quality is high, and the detail is excellent. There is a button on the bottom of the vehicle that when pushed starts the scanner going back and forth. The only thing that would have been even cooler is if the scanner sound was also included so that the light and sound mimicked KITT.
I am still a fan of Knight Rider, the original series not the new one, and hope that more Knight Rider products are produced.
This item comes highly recommended from me.

By pearl I bought this car for a person with special needs. He loves the knight rider, so when he opened it for Christmas it was a gift for me to see how happy he was!
Toy or collectable?Jun 13, 2010
By D. Sum I was very dissapointed with the paintwork of the car and also the scratches found on the body and windscreen when I received the product. The roofscreen drops off easily too. My suggestion is also to include a name of the car at the front of the holder. Hence I would still think that it is better off as a toy for my 3 yr old child rather than for a serious collector for die cast models. Overall I was happy the model was reintroduced but more QC should be enforced in the production.
