Im a huge fan of the trilogy of BTTF..

this diecast model. is amazing, incredible detail to the max. inside and outside.

this model, is from the Back To the Future 2. when the Delorean is capable of flying. the model is set to have 2 configurations.. the first as a regular car, and the second in flying configuration. great. great. great.

4Back to my past...Apr 08, 2010

Love this car! I was waiting for years for SOMEBODY to make an accurate toy Delorean from the movie-especially one with the wheels coming up so that they toy flies. It's made of metal so it's pretty durable...until your son gets a hold of it and some of the plastic parts that are glued on come off. Oh, well. Live and learn. Still looks cool even after all of these years of having it. Still take it down sometimes and play with it, but my son plays with his Hot Wheels version from now on.

5This is not a toy.Dec 17, 2009

I purchased this as a "piece of flair" for my home theatre, and not only was I not disappointed, I was amazed at the attention to detail, and quality of construction put into this model. Both doors open, showing a well modelled interior complete with flux-capacitor, and time machine interface. The hood opens to show what would be the "trunk" of a de-lorean (not much to see in there, but it was nice that they made it open and close) and the best part is, there is a lever on the bottom of the car that flips the wheels down into "flying mode" like at the end of BttF I, and all throughout BttF II. The entire body is Die-Cast metal and gives it a good heft. I would caution that you do NOT buy this for kids to play with, though, as there are some fine detailed pieces, like the windshield wipers, which would break of very easily in a kids hands.

Based on the quality of this model, I now plan to buy all four versions of SunStart BttF De-Loreans ! Of the four versions of this model, if you only buy one, buy THIS one. It is the only one featured in all three movies, and is the most recognizable and iconic.

5High quality detailed 1/18 scale Time MachineDec 13, 2009

Ertl always delivers and spare no details. Included with this model are the flux capacitor, Mr. Fusion, and the time circuits to let you know where you were, where you are, and where your going. Ertl also added the bonus of flipping a switch to make the wheels pop out and simulate the Hover conversion as seen in Back To The Future 2. For added detail Ertl even made the the doors open straight up and the hood open backwards to reveal the trunk deck. The car is flawless and made from high quality brushed metal to recreate the original Delorean stainless steel finish.
I recommend this model for the collector or kid that enjoyed the movies.

4A nice complement to any BttF fan's collectionDec 05, 2011

The Back to the Future films are probably my favorite movies, and I've seen each of them more times than I can remember. I've been in love with the DeLorean since the first time I laid eyes on it, and this miniature is no exception. I opted for this version as it seems to me to be the most iconic appearance of the time machine across all three films. The detail is quite remarkable, down to the Mr. Fusion logo, though my only real nitpick is that it uses the "OUTATIME" licence plate instead of the orange and silver barcode plate that was in place throughout the second and third films. But as the "OUTATIME" plate is probably the more famous version I can let this slide.

The only other issues was one of the sideview mirrors falling off when I took it out of the box, and the difficulty is removing it from the not so
decorative "stand" it was attached to. It also seems to sit a little lopsided, probably due to the mechanism that allows the wheels to change position.

All in all, this is a very nice piece for any collector.
